Up to what age is the MoveMi® baby crib + playpen suitable?

You can use the MoveMi® baby crib from birth until approximately 1.5 years of age – possibly a bit longer depending on your child's growth. This is also the typical time period during which you would need a playpen. Thanks to our specially chosen mattress length of 96 cm, MoveMi® is still cozy enough for a newborn (compared to a 120 or 140 cm crib), but it can be used longer than typical bedside cribs. After using the MoveMi® baby crib, you can easily transition to a Montessori floor bed with a 160 cm mattress, for example.

Can I use a mattress from another manufacturer?

MoveMi® is designed with specially made mattresses to enable the transformation function using a Velcro connection. Currently, there are no mattresses from other manufacturers on the market that meet these requirements. Therefore, MoveMi® can only be used with its designated mattresses.

Is the MoveMi® mattress included in the purchase?

No, the MoveMi® mattress is not included in the purchase. We offer two different mattress options so that you can customize the product according to your preferences.

Which mattress should I use?

For the MoveMi® baby crib, you have a choice between two mattress sets (sleep and play mattress):
The "Basic" mattress set is breathable and comfortable, made from Oeko-Tex certified foam.
The "Organic" set is ecological and hypoallergenic, made from 100% organic certified latex and coconut fibers.
Both options are specifically designed for MoveMi® and offer different benefits to suit your individual needs.

Why is there no zipper on the mattress?

In accordance with the current mattress standard, our mattresses feature a safety zipper without a pull tab, preventing children from opening the mattress cover. To open the zipper, a temporary tool (e.g. paperclip) must be used.

When should I lower the mattress height to the bottom position, and how do I do it?

It is recommended to use MoveMi® in the higher position until your baby begins to pull themselves up, usually around 9 months. Once you notice these signs, it's time to lower the mattress to the bottom position. You can find a video tutorial on adjusting the mattress height in our " Assembly & Instruction" section.

How is air circulation ensured despite the two mattresses?

The sleep and play mattress are separated by a bed base. This bed base is designed with sufficient ventilation slots to ensure optimal air circulation. This not only contributes to the longevity of the mattress but also promotes a healthy sleep environment by preventing moisture buildup, thereby minimizing the risk of mold formation. Additionally, it helps regulate temperature, further enhancing your child's sleeping comfort.

What materials is the MoveMi® baby crib + playpen made from, and how should I care for it?

A detailed description of the materials used, along with care instructions, can be found in the "Materials & Care" section.

How do I assemble or convert MoveMi®?

You can find detailed video instructions for assembling and converting MoveMi® in our "Assembly & Instruction" section. You will also find an explanation of how to connect MoveMi® as a co-sleeper to the parents’ bed.

How long can I use MoveMi® as a bedside crib?

It is recommended to use MoveMi® as a bedside crib until your baby starts to sit up or crawl, typically between 6 and 8 months. Once you notice these signs, it's time to convert MoveMi® into a baby crib + playpen.

If I use MoveMi® as a bedside crib, can I use it as a playpen at the same time?

In theory, it's possible to use MoveMi® simultaneously as a bedside crib and a playpen. However, this is not intended in practice, as a large playpen is usually not needed during the time when the bedside crib function is in use. Therefore, the leather loop is not attached during assembly as a bedside crib according to the instructions. Since MoveMi® can also be safely and easily moved away from the parent’s bed, you can use the bedside crib throughout your home during the day.

What is the maximum weight capacity of MoveMi®?

MoveMi® is tested and approved according to the European standard EN 716 and EN 12227. To meet this standards, the crib in the highest position is subjected to a drop test with a weight of 10 kg and is dynamically tested. The maximum static weight capacity of the base plate is 30 kg.
